My Platform

R.E.S.T.O.R.E.

Seven commitments to the people of Louisiana House District 61 — not promises made on a podium, but a plan built with the community, for the community.

R

Readiness for Every Child

“No child left behind.”

  • Push for expanded state funding for evidence-based early literacy programs.
  • Support high-dosage tutoring and summer learning programs to stop the “summer slide.”
  • Champion a dedicated, recurring funding source — rather than one-time stipends — for classroom teachers and support staff, so the raise doesn’t disappear with the next budget cycle.
E

Economic Opportunity & Living Wages

“Creating jobs that pay the bills.”

  • Advocate for incentives that reward employers who hire locally and pay livable wages.
  • Streamline licensing and permitting to help small businesses start and grow.
  • Support micro-grants, small business incubators, and access to capital in underserved corridors.
S

Safe Streets & Secure Seniors

“Ensuring the safety of every neighbor.”

  • Support community policing, better response times, and investment in violence-interruption programs.
  • Fund neighborhood lighting, cameras, and blight removal — proven crime deterrents.
  • Strengthen protections against elder abuse and exploitation.
T

Trades, Training & Workforce Pathways

“Skills that lead somewhere.”

  • Expand apprenticeships, dual enrollment, and industry certifications in high schools and community colleges.
  • Partner with Baton Rouge’s industrial, healthcare, and construction employers to align training with real openings.
  • Promote adult education and GED programs alongside job placement.
O

Opportunity for Youth

“Give them something to run toward.”

  • Fund after-school programs, mentorship, sports, arts, and summer jobs for teens.
  • Create safe spaces such as recreation centers and extended-hours community hubs.
  • Support programs that address trauma, mental health, and truancy early.
R

Renewal of Neighborhoods

“Homes and blocks worth being proud of.”

  • Prioritize infrastructure: drainage, roads, streetlights, and flood mitigation.
  • Fight blight through land-bank tools and support for rehabilitating abandoned properties.
  • Expand access to affordable housing and homeownership assistance.
E

Engaged & Accountable Government

“A representative who shows up.”

  • Hold regular town halls and open-door office hours inside the district.
  • Build a community advisory council of parents, seniors, pastors, educators, business owners, and young people.
  • Help constituents navigate state agencies.

Restoring the Village — starting with our children.

“Every child deserves to read, every worker deserves a living wage, and every senior deserves to feel safe at home. I’m running to make that our reality, because I believe our best days are ahead. This community raised me and it’s worth restoring. Together let’s restore the village.”
